Wrestling Team

The Bluefield High School wrestling team has high hopes for the upcoming season. This year the team is small, but don’t underestimate them. Only about ten members strong, the team expects to be very successful. Under the lead of head coach Kevin Baylor and assistant coach David Trigg, the team has grown exponentially. Wrestler Remington Dyson, a senior, stated that, He has learned a lot from the coaches and past wrestlers.”

Dyson also has faith in the team and said that, “We (the team) will work our way to a championship whether it’s from the upperclassmen or the underclassmen.” The team is currently working hard at every practice and train on their off days. The team is very diverse in weight classes, including 106, 120, 138, 150, and three wrestlers falling in the heavyweight class. Their first match was on December 3 against Liberty High School. With hard work and dedication, Dyson is confident that success will follow.
