2016 Girls Basketball Takes FLIGHT

                 After concluding a rough season in fall sports; winter sports are quickly upon us. The 2016 Girls Basketball team has many returning starting players on the court this year. One of those crucial players includes Senior Jia Coppalo. With losing only one player from last year’s starting lineup, Coppalo believes that upcoming freshman Jasia Smith will impact the team immensely this year. She insists that the development of the team’s skill and chemistry will lead them to a victorious year. Jia observes that the team strengths reside in taking the ball to the basket, rather than shooting from outside. This year the girls’ basketball team opened their season with a game against rivalry Graham High School, where the team COMPLETELY dominated with the final score being 67-28. Jia claims that with such a prominent start to the season will ensure a great performance in this year sectional tournament and a possible trip to Charleston in March.
